Lenten Devotional, Day 5
Blessed Lord's Day to you, Saints dear:
No devotional today, there will be sermons/homilies in your respective churches. I'll be preaching on fasting from Isaiah 58, one of our previous Lenten Texts.
As to no devotional, a couple of reasons: #1. I was in remedial reading and writing class all my life — a strong dyslexic before that was a thing. And although I like to write, I find it taxing and need a Lord's Day break. #2. This is a bigger reason. I'll provide the Scripture readings below. Sit with them before God, yes, linger and ponder, treasure any mining finds and facets in your heart as did blessed Mary, and pray the Holy Spirit insights back to God for grace to love and live. Respond if you wish with your revelations, impartations, quickenings.
So, for today the Revised Common Lectionary gives us: Genesis 2:15–17, 3:1–7; Psalm 32, Romans 5:12–19, Matthew 4:1–11. That is a trove, always a trove.
The Only Best in/is Christ,
